The Old Course

The venerable Old Course is the first course launched by Siam Country Club. This I. Izumi-designed course was recently renovated by Mr. Lee Schmidt of Schmidt-Curley Design Inc. to improve the playability of the course further. The fairways were replanted with Seashore Paspalum grass, and Novotek grass was chosen for the greens.

 

Plantation Course

The Plantation Course was so named for the Pineapple, tapioca and sugar-cane plantations in the vicinity. This hilly course with several elevated tees offers not only a superb round of golf but a panoramic view of Pattaya and the Gulf of Thailand as well.

Schmidt-Curley Design Inc. designed the course, and it also features the only triple-greens on the continent of Asia. The golf course was immediately attractive to professional golfers. Only one year after it opened in 2008, it was chosen as the golf course to stage the Honda LPGA Thailand. The course was also chosen “the best maintained golf course in Asia” by Asia Golf Week Magazine.

 

Waterside Course

The aptly named Waterside course was designed by IMG and features lakes, ponds, and creeks in play on several of the holes. Laid-out around a large lake, the final three holes on both the front and back nine have water features. This wide-open course also features a 600-yard, par-5, 18th hole that will reward long-hitting golfers with the option of cutting the dogleg across the lake to lay up in two.

A spectacular, modern clubhouse offers a fully-equipped pro shop with all the latest gear to lower your handicap. With both a practice range and an 18-hole, miniature putting golf course adjacent to the clubhouse, the Waterside course offers 5-star facilities for the serious golfer.

 

The Rolling Hills Course

The newest course under the Siam Country Club banner is the Rolling Hills Course. This Brian Curley-designed course from Schmidt-Curley Design Inc. offers a back nine that is laid-out across gently rolling hills and provides golfers a change in elevations to maintain interesting play.

The featured hole on the course is the par-5, 15th, which provides the greatest challenge in reaching the green because it is ‘guarded’ by “the wall of death”. This ‘wall’ is a series of bunkers that punish golfers shooting short or long. Luckily, the hole has a forgiving option to bailout to the right of the green that saves a lot of frustration for a lot of golfers.

The final three holes climb a hill providing cooling breezes and a great view of Pattaya and the Gulf of Thailand in the distance before dropping back down to the level of the clubhouse.
